From your instructions to your document

  1. Choose your service. Prepare your Will, NDA or demand-letter answers using the questionnaires below.
  2. Contact our team. We check suitability, identity and conflicts, confirm the scope, fee and timing, and arrange how you can return your answers and supporting documents privately.
  3. Review your draft. After acceptance and the agreed payment arrangements, our team prepares and privately delivers your draft. Tell us about corrections or changes.
  4. Complete the solicitor check. We settle the document and explain the next step. A demand letter is sent only under separately confirmed instructions. Will witnessing is arranged in person at our office.

Negotiation, disputes, court proceedings and work outside the agreed document scope are quoted separately. We will explain any different scope and fee before you commit. Preparing answers here does not generate a legal document, send a letter or make a payment.

What the demand-letter fee covers

$385 including GST covers a straightforward, apparently undisputed unpaid business invoice claim by one creditor against one debtor, including review of up to five evidence documents, totalling no more than 20 pages, preparation, factual corrections and one email issue after the client approves the letter.

Count all pages of contracts, email chains and attachments. Tell us about every relevant document and any dispute, even if the material exceeds these limits. Do not omit facts or documents to fit the fixed fee. A matter can need a separate quote because of complexity even when it falls within the document limit.

Complex or disputed claims, additional recipients, postal or personal service, searches, interest or recovery-cost analysis, negotiation, substantive replies, further correspondence and court proceedings are quoted separately before work begins. The fee does not guarantee payment by the debtor. Our written acceptance confirms the included work, timing and arrangements for any replies.

Prepare your questionnaire

These questionnaires help you organise your instructions. You can review and download an answer record, then arrange delivery with our team. There is no automatic submission.

Will questionnaire 18 questions

Read the Will service terms and $426.80 GST-inclusive fee.

Based on Balwyn Legal’s Will Preparation Instruction Sheet. Complete this for one person only, using your own wishes. Your answers help our team assess and prepare your Will; they are not a Will and do not confirm that the fixed-fee service is suitable.

Prepare your answers here; this does not submit them. Download a copy before leaving or refreshing this page. We do not provide automatic saving or reloading of answers. Use a private device. Do not enter passwords, payment-card details, bank-account numbers or identity-document numbers.

Answer “Not sure” or “Not applicable” where appropriate. For an urgent deadline, call 1300 132 097; this questionnaire does not protect a deadline or establish an engagement.

Tell us whether you are 18 or older, live in Victoria and are giving your own instructions freely. If someone is helping you complete this questionnaire, give their name and role. If you are unsure about any of these points, or feel pressured, ask our team for a private conversation before continuing.

First name, all middle names, last name, maiden name and any other name or alias. Preserve the spelling used in your records.

Use an unambiguous date, such as 15 March 1970. Do not enter passport, driver licence or other identity-document numbers.

Residential address, postal address if different, and any other relevant address. Include suburb, state, postcode and country.

Your email address, telephone number and preferred contact method. Tell us if a device or inbox is shared, if messages should not be left, or if you need another arrangement for receiving your draft. Do not provide email passwords.

Your current spouse or partner; former relationships relevant to your wishes; children, including children of previous relationships and stepchildren; and other dependants. For each, give their full name, relationship and age if under 18. Tell us about anyone you wish to leave out or treat differently so the solicitor can discuss your instructions.

For each proposed executor: first, middle and last names, address and relationship to you. List as many as needed and say whether you want them to act together. Tell us if you have not decided or have not discussed the role with them.

For each alternative executor: full name, address and relationship to you. Explain the order of appointment or whether alternatives should act together. Tell us what you would like if only one of several executors can act, or say Not sure.

For each beneficiary: first, middle and last names, address, relationship to you and proposed share. State equal shares, fractions or percentages and identify who is included in each group. If using percentages, check your intended shares total 100%; the questionnaire does not calculate or approve the distribution.

For each gift: describe the item, asset or amount, and the beneficiary's full name, address and relationship to you. Include any charity's exact name if applicable. Tell us who owns the asset and any conditions you want discussed. Do not enter account numbers or passwords.

Identify each relevant beneficiary and gift, their current age and your preferred age to receive the bequest, for example 18, 21 or 25. Mention any support needs you would like to discuss privately. Say Not sure if you need guidance.

Identify the beneficiary and gift or share, and any replacement beneficiaries with their full names, addresses and relationships to you. Tell us your wishes if none of your first choices survives, or say Not sure for the solicitor to discuss.

Identify the children concerned. For each proposed guardian: first, middle and last names, address and relationship to you. Say whether you want joint or alternative nominees and whether you have discussed your wishes with them. Say Not applicable if appropriate.

List each asset and its Owner: you alone, jointly with another person, a company, a trust or another owner. Include property, bank accounts, superannuation and share portfolios, and mention overseas assets or business interests. Give general descriptions and relevant debts; do not enter account numbers, credentials or access codes. Listing an asset does not determine whether it can pass under your Will.

Tell us about any existing Will or codicil, where the original is held, any relevant agreements or promises, and any planned marriage, separation or divorce. Mention trusts, companies, superannuation nominations or a Will in another country. Our team will arrange how to receive supporting documents privately.

Blended families, excluding a close family member, inheritance disputes, overseas property, complex trusts or business interests, or concerns about understanding the document or pressure from someone else. Give a brief outline, or ask for a private call; detailed medical information is not needed here.

Explain any urgency and quote an external deadline exactly if there is one. You may suggest dates and times for attending our office in person, or leave this until you review your first draft. Preferred times are requests only; our team will confirm an appointment after the review process. Call 1300 132 097 if urgent.

Include any additional wishes, questions, communication or accessibility needs, or anything you are unsure how to answer. Please tell the team if your circumstances change after preparing these answers.
